No church runs by itself.
At St George’s, everything we do is made possible by people who are willing to get involved and play their part. We love seeing people get stuck in, and there are so many ways you can use your time, skills, and talents to help support the life of the church.
Whether it’s welcoming people on a Sunday, helping with children and youth, serving behind the scenes, or supporting our work in the local community, every role matters. Getting involved is a great way to meet others, feel part of what’s going on, and make a real difference.

At our 9am Sunday service
Bible Reading

Read a Bible passage provided as part of our 9am service.
Lock up

Clear and lock up the church after the 9am service.
Prayers

Write and read the prayers for our 9am service.
Sides People

Assist with welcome, seating people, handing out hymn books etc.
At our 10:30am Sunday gathering
Welcome Team

Help to give a warm welcome to those arriving at our 10:30 gathering.
Set up/Set down

Help to set up and/or set down the 10:30 in our Church Centre.
Kids Team

Be a part of our kids team - which provides groups during the 10:30.
Prayer Team

Join our prayer team to pray for people after the 10:30 gathering.
Tea and Coffee on Sundays

Set up and serve refreshments from 10am-10:30am on a Sunday.
Church Grounds and Buildings
Churchyard Tidy
3-4 times a year
Help us keep our churchyard grounds tidy on a Saturday morning.
Church cleaning

Join our team to help clean inside the church.
Verger

Oversee operations in the church for weddings or funerals.
Grass Mowing

Join the team that keep our grass nice and trim in the spring and summer.
Flower Team

Bell Ringing

Join our bell ringing team. Practice weekly - Thurs evenings.

Open and close our church during the week. 10am and 4pm, Mon-Fri.
Church Centre Building

Help to keep our Church Centre clean inbetween bookings and services.
Maintenance

Help our maintenance men keep on top of jobs at the Church Centre.
